HUNT WRITE UP BY HEIDI SWONGER
WHAT TO EXPECT
I’I have done a major portion of my hunting in Eastern/Central PA. One of the great things about PA is the diversity. PA has various terrain, depending on what part of the state you travel to, you will encounter fields to big water up on Lake Erie. The state has ample opportunities from early September until March, if you put in the time and miles.
Public land ranging from marshes, fields & lakes.
If you want to hunt the rivers, a bonus is having a boat to gain access to islands
PA has one of the densest populations of hunters, so make friends
Pennsylvania has large areas of public land, however gaining access to private land and hard to access areas is critical.
Targeted Species - Wood Ducks, Mallards, Black Ducks, Canada Geese, Snow Geese, Buffleheads, Red Heads, Canvasbacks, Golden Eyes, Blue Bills
